German Technique
Every recipe follows Reinheitsgebot principles: water, malt, hops, yeast. No shortcuts, no adjuncts, no rushed ferments.
Campbell's Bay, QC · Since 2018
The Story
We opened Brauwerk Hoffman in 2018 to brew the beer we couldn't find nearby. Founded by Todd Hoffman, we're the first microbrewery in the Pontiac, and still the only one committed to German brewing precision in western Quebec.
We brew what we drink. German technique, local ingredients, and a taproom that feels like exactly what it is: a working brewery that happens to serve the best beer for 200 kilometres.
Every recipe follows Reinheitsgebot principles: water, malt, hops, yeast. No shortcuts, no adjuncts, no rushed ferments.
We source from Pontiac-region farms where we can. The water is ours, the grain is close to home, and the terroir matters.
We open when the season is right, late May to late October. We don't rush it and we don't stretch it.
Founder & Brewer
Todd Hoffman founded Brauwerk Hoffman in 2018. It was the first microbrewery in the Pontiac. Before the brewery, Todd owned Campbell’s Bay Cement.
He also runs Anglo-Prussian Hops, a hop yard between Shawville and Ladysmith. The name nods to the two settler traditions that shaped this corner of the Pontiac in the late 1800s, and to the German lagers and ales the brewery is built around.
Our Story
2013
Todd plants Anglo-Prussian Hops in Clarendon, between Shawville on the Anglo side and Ladysmith on the Prussian side. The hops grown here will eventually go into every batch.
